The Power of the Purse was Powerful!

The Cowlitz Regional Conference Center ballroom was bursting with energy and love on Thursday, October 15th as United Way premiered its first annual "The Power of the Purse" event benefiting its 22 partner agencies.

There were 46 raffle purses and prizes and silent auction items in addition to great food, beverage and fashion show entertainment featuring clothing from Macy's, Maurice's, Estetica Spa & Boutique, Bob's Sporting Goods and JCPenney. 21 local female business women showcased the clothing and got the crowd pumped. The event drew in 250 ladies and raised just shy of $17,000 for the 2016 United Way Campaign, "Charting the Course to Change."

Special Congratulations to Sandy Junker (Director of Head Start), recipient of the 2015 Woman of Excellence Award presented at the event. Support from sponsors, volunteers and prize donors made this event a huge success!
