Every year United Way of Cowlitz & Wahkiakum Counties celebrates the power of mass volunteerism and the positive community impact that can be achieved in one day with Day of Caring! Open your heart and lend your helping hands for a day of projects supporting local non-profits, community-centered organizations, and those in need. Together we can make a big impact!
- Pre-Project Rally: Cowlitz County Fairgrounds (Grand Stands) 8:30 AM
- Projects Commence: 9:00 AM-3 PM (At assigned locations)
- Projects are assigned to participant teams by United Way.
Everyone who attends the morning rally will be entered into a raffle drawing and must be present for a chance to win. We will be accepting donations of new or gently used children's books for all ages. Please donate so more local children can access books in their homes. Anyone who donates books will receive an extra raffle ticket.
We need impactful and compelling projects that pull the heartstrings of a volunteer to support.
When considering project submissions, put yourself in the shoes of a volunteer. Would it move them? Would it make them feel they have accomplished something important and needed? Literacy efforts, STEM projects, Wheelchair ramps, Playground rejuvenation, etc. Interested non-profits or community-centered organizations can submit project proposals for consideration. United Way will review and assign a volunteer team for the task!
Project hosts are responsible for providing lunch and needed supplies to volunteers.
The deadline to submit projects is August 1, 2024.
United Way will contact you before September 12, 2024, with the assigned team's details and contact information.
If you have more than one project, please submit on a separate project proposal form.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions at 360-423-5320 or aheinlen@cowlitzunitedway.org
Team Registration Deadline: Closed for 2024
*All volunteers must complete a risk waiver that must be turned in before projects start on 9/12/2024.
