Lois Smith

Lois Smith joined the United Way team in July 2025, bringing more than 30 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector to her role as Executive Director. Throughout her career, Lois has focused on advancing social impact initiatives - working with organizations committed to improving the health and quality of life for vulnerable adults, families, children, and the communities they call home. Her expertise spans operations and resource management, organizational development, strategic and operational planning, and government affairs.

Angela Heinlen

Angela Heinlen is a lifelong Kelso resident with deep roots in community service. Inspired by her father’s work as Assistant Director of the YMCA of Southwest Washington — which included serving as Camp Director at YMCA Camp Loowit on Spirit Lake — Angela saw firsthand the impact of giving back, including his efforts to raise funds for United Way. Before joining United Way in April 2019, she spent many years in retail as a soft goods buyer and manager. Today, Angela brings her passion for community and connection to her work, helping strengthen the place she’s always called home.
